Ladakh Festival

The Ladakh Festival is organized by the J&K government and brings together the various peoples and cultures of the region. Today was the first (and best) day. It started in the morning with a parade of people from different villages in traditional dress playing music, singing and dancing, and ended up at Leh Polo Grounds for more music, singing and dancing. The different clothing, jewelry and accessories were just amazing. The people dressed with all the flowers are the Aryans from Dha Hanu, a region that follows the Indus north to Pakistan. What else can I say? These people are fabulous and this place is a dream come true for me…
